Pops was a Land Surveyor for many years. He could plot and navigate by the stars if had to. He kept a vegetable garden in his back yard in keeping with the Swisher Family tradition.
His time in the United States Army was spent in Kitzigen West Germany which as it turns out is in the area most of his Ancestors came from.
Carl Swisher was survived by his wife Elizabeth Swisher, daughter Sandra (Bruce) Bucner, Joseph (Dianne) Swisher, John (Sarah) Swisher and Paul (Jennifer) Swisher and his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren
He was a member of The American Legion Post in Melvindale Michigan and a member of the Voiture 40n8.
