Prudent Bédard, son of Pierre Nazaire Bédard and Flore Monpas, was born and baptized on 25 Jul 1853 at Saint Jean Baptiste, Deschaillons, Lotbinière, Québec, Canada. He married Arthémise Charest, daughter of Joseph Charest and Généviève Liberge, at Saints Anges, Ham Nord, Wolfe, Québec on 7 Jul 1879. A physician, Prudent immigrated to the United States with his family before the turn of the century and settled in Maine. He was widowed in 1909. On 17 Feb 1910, he married 15 year old Marguerite Belle Billings, daughter of Merrill Billings and Hattie Rowe, in Norway, Oxford, Maine. (His bride was younger than most of his children.) Prudent died at age 63 and was interred in Saint Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine.
