David Hirst Newman, age 87, died April 4, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born July 26, 1905 in Salt Lake City to David and Jessie Coon Newman. Married Beulah Jamison on September 18, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Owner and operator of Dave Newman's Arctic Circle for many years. Active member of the LDS Church. Served a mission in England, served in the bishopric for seven years, and temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for 14 years.Survived by his wife, Beulah; four daughters, Joan Klinger, Patsy Winger(Richard), Susan Macdonald(Stan), and Barbara LeDuc(Jerry); 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Petersen of Boise, Idaho, and Lorraine Dickman of Hurricane, Utah. Preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Putman and Bertha Martin.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 1993 at 11 a.m. in the Winder 2nd Ward, 1361 East 4000 South. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, and Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
