Nellie V. Bartram, 77, of Bruno, ceased suffering on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the home of her daughter, Jenny Adkins, following a lingering illness. Born Feb. 1, 1928, at Christian, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Rebecca Eastridge Altizer. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Gene Grimmett; two sisters, Atholine Altizer and Esther Toler; five brothers, Fred, Chester, Stergil, Diamond and Glen Altizer; two sons-in-law, Robert Lloyd Blankenship Sr., and Emerson Whitlock, and three grandchildren, Robin Lynn Blankenship, Robert Lloyd Blankenship Jr. and Frank Adkins III. Mrs. Bartram was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith. She loved to sew and make crafts. She was a strong, loving mother who enjoyed her family near her. Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, Lonnie Edward Bartram Sr.; three daughters, Linda Blankenship of Bruno, Jenny (Frank) Adkins Jr. of Neibert. and Cindy Whitlock of Greenville; one son, Lonnie (Vickie) Bartram Jr. of Reidsville, N.C.; one brother, Gerald Altizer of Akron, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Carol Griffith Browning of Man; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, at the Bruno Church of God at Bruno with Rev. Roger Frye and Rev. Baxter Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
