Cleora Bell Smith Aldridge, 92, of Center Point, died Saturday, November 17, 2001, in a Kerrville hospital. She was born October 16, 1909, in Bandera County to Albert and Norma Smith.
On July 3, 1930, Cleora married Jay Darrell Aldridge. She was always an active member of the Baptist church and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and gardening.
Cleora was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, Alton Smith, Graydon Smith, and Amos Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Wellborn and her husband, Earl Wellborn, of Center Point; son, Darrell Lynn Aldridge; sister, Golda Stankovich of Clute, Texas; brothers, J.D. Smith of Bentonville, Arkansas, Earle Smith and Odie Smith, both of San Angelo; grandchildren, Deborah Wellborn, Audrey and Douglas Staudt, Bonnie and Steve Teel and Patty and Tim Martin; great-grandchildren, Mary Durst, Stephanie, Rustin, and Cole Staudt, Eric and Michael Teel and Shauni and Wyatt Martin; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Aldridge will be at 2 pm Wednesday, November 21, at First Baptist Church in Center Point, with Pastor Ron Langley officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Point Cemetery.
