FORT WORTH - Enzie Opal Melton, 93, a homemaker, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at a local nursing home.
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday, Fairview Cemetery, Wellington.
Opal was born Feb. 15, 1913, to William Clarence and Hattie Bell Killingsworth, in the Salt Fork community of Collinsworth County.
When Opal was 3 years old, she and her parents traveled by covered wagon to Kit Carson, Colo., living for a short time in a dugout before returning to Texas, where she was a lifelong resident, living in and around Wellington for 40 years before moving to Fort Worth in the 1950s.
Opal married Rubin Lee "Bill" Melton on Jan. 23, 1930.
She was a member of South Hills Baptist Church, Eastern Star and the Rebecca's.
She worked for many years for the Fort Worth ISD and All Saints Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, W.C. and Hattie Killingsworth; her husband, of 65 years, Bill Melton; brother, Otis Killingsworth; and sisters, Ola B. Tice and Ona Mae Skeyan.
Survivors: Son, Rogers Melton and wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Donna Deubler; grandchildren, Kenneth Melton and wife, Linda, Tommi Ann Mitchell and husband, Kenny, Teresa Binney and husband, Roger, Christian Deubler and wife, Jennifer, Diana Gembler and husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Lisa Wiggins, Keith Melton, Shelia Grady, Alicia Miller, Thad Barlow, Christian Deubler Jr., Lauryn Deubler; great-great-grandchildren, Emerald Contreras, Grayson Grady, Rylee Grady, Gavin Myatt, Brooke Miller and Jessica Wiggins.
