Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, Oct. 18, 1971, Monday, p. 4:

Alonzo Cross, 53, of 2608 Edgar St., died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital.

A native of Springfield, Ohio, Mr. Cross had lived in Shreveport 22 years. He was a shipping and receiving clerk at a local department store.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Stowell, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow and one sister, Mrs. Norton Croft of London, England.

Pallbearers will be Stuart Whisman, Duane E. Reynolds Sr., Frank Broderick, Ted Jordan, Jerry Taylor and Glen Gilbert.
