Services for Alice Ruby Talkington, 69, of Wilder, who died Tuesday, July 10, in a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Homedale Flahiff Funeral Chapel.
Pastors Bill Whala of Homedale Baptist Church and Wendell Brandom of the First Baptist Church, Middleton, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Middleton Cemetery.
Mrs. Talkington was born July 27, 1914, in Chinook, Mont., to Otto and Elizabeth Dick Dalke. When she was a young child, the family moved to Oklahoma. On Aug. 25, 1935, she married Dennis Talkington in Hinton, Okla., and the couple farmed in and around Hydro, Okla.
In 1951 they moved to Middleton where they continued farming, and then moved to Nampa in 1975. She had worked for the J:R. Simplot Company in Caldwell for 24 years, retiring in 1977. In 1978 the couple moved to Homedale where they had since resided. She was a member of the Homedale Baptist Church. Her favorite hobbies were sewing and quilting for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of Homedale: three sons, Doyle and Mike Talkington, both of Middleton. and Gary Talkington of Troy, Ore.; five daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Pat) Hetmer of Marsing. Mrs. Jim (Cecilia) McDaniel of Caldwell, Mrs. Roy ( Beth) Keen of Summerland, B.C., Canada, Mrs. Kenneth L. (Susan) ) Good of Kuna, and Mrs. Frank ( Tammy) Cruz of Battle Mountain, Nev.: her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dalke of Hydro, Okla.; a brother, George I5alke also of Hydro; three sisters, Babe Rust of Hydro, Agnes Bryan and Joyce Sanders, both
of Rosemead, Calif.: 19 grand-children; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, one sister, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Friends may call at the Chapel in Homedale Thursday from 1 until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers are sons-in-law, Jim McDaniel, Gene Hetmer, Ken Good, Roy Keen. Frank Cruz Jr. and a nephew. Merle Talkington. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church, 108 E. First N., Middleton, after concluding services in Middleton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mountain States Tumor Institute 151 East Bannock, Boise, or to the Homedale Baptist Church, Homedale.
