Blanton Bowles Allen, 54, of Boca Raton. Fla., formerly of Berryville, died Saturday, Oct. 1, at his home.
Mr. Allen was born in Winchester on January 2, 1940, the son of the late Dr. Dandridge Blanton Allen, and the late Virginia Howles Allen. He was a 195S graduate of Clarke County High School, a 1962 graduate of the University of Richmond, a 1965 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, he served as Captain in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1967, served in the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heat.

Mr. Allen was a Judicial Examiner for the Federal Court System for five years and an Assisiant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New Jersey for seven years. Currently, he was the assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. He was a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Federal Bar Association, Florida Sheriffs Association, a life member of the National Rifle Association, the Isaac Walton League of America and a former member of Berryville Baptist Church.

He was married to Mimi Allen. Surviving with his wife, is a brother, Dr. Dandridge B. Allen, of Bcrryville.

Graveside rites were held at Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville, Wednesday. Oct. 5, and were conducted by Dr. William B. Ingram. Burial was at Green Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Enders Funeral Home in Berryville.
