Hi, Charles. I will tell you what I know about Vernon. Maybe it's not as much as I had thought or is not what you are interested in but here goes.

Vernon was married to my Mother's sister, Lyla Mae Morgan Baggett. Lyla and Vernon had 3 children; Sherry Lynn Baggett, Ronald Lee Baggett, and Alan Ray Baggett. They lived in Dallas, TX.
Vernon was a traveling salesman; he sold Kirby vacuum cleaners. He was on a trip in Longview, TX on a cold, snowy Wednesday night, January 15, 1964. He was, from what I remember, driving around a curve when his car went out of control, hit a culvert, and landed upside down. Vernon was killed.
Lyla was at home with 3 small children when the police came to the door and informed her. I was 9 years old. Vernon was buried at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX.

Later, Sherry Lynn Martin (she was Vernon's daughter, Sherry Lynn Baggett Martin) was buried next to him when she committed suicide, I believe in 1976. She was married to Kevin Martin and had one son, Harley Martin. Harley became a lawyer and I believe is practicing in Dallas.
Alan Ray Baggett and Lyla Baggett are also deceased. They were both cremated and as far as I know, Ronald Lee has their ashes. He is the only survivor of this original family. Ronald is divorced and has 2 daughters. One of their names is Natalie and I cannot remember the other (maybe Nicole). One of the daughters, I believe, became a lawyer.
When Lyla filed for survivor's benefits for the children another woman also claimed a child by Vernon. It was a girl named Vicky. I don't know if that is the correct spelling or not. As I said, I was only 9 at the time of Vernon's death. I think, but am not positive, that Vernon had been married before he was married to Lyla. I do not know that for sure.

About Riley and Emma Baggett:
When I knew them they lived next door to Lyla and the children. Mr. and Mrs. Baggett, as I referred to them both, worked at Timberlawn Sanitarium on Samuell Boulevard in Dallas. Emma was the sister of my preacher's wife, Ethel Edna Irene Coleman O'Connor. Mrs. O'Connor was married to Rev. A.E. O'Connor (Arthur Eddie O'Connor). Emma's maiden name would have been Coleman. I do not know where Riley or Emma were buried, but I know they are not buried beside Vernon.
I don't know if any of this information is what you are interested in or not. It was a tragedy that Vernon lost his life and his children endured such hardship growing up.
Please let me know if any of this information is helpful.
Thank you for the opportunity to share this.
