Betty J. Haverstock, 83, of Chambersburg died at 6:22 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, in her home.

Born in Hamburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Zweizig and Florence Smith Wertz.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clarence M. Haverstock.

Mrs. Haverstock was a 1943 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School.

She retired from James River Corp. in 1991.

Mrs. Haverstock enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Vaughn; two sons, Mike Haverstock and Greg Haverstock; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Tom Wertz and John Wertz.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.

Burial will be Tuesday in Norland Cemetery.
