Mr. Adams was born in Athens, Ga., but spent most of his life in Statesboro. Those who have gone before include his father, John Chesley Adams Sr.; his mother, Sarah Roberts Adams; his brother-in-law, Gilbert Cone Jr.; and his mother and father, Gilbert & Nannette Cone.
He is survived by his devoted wife Harriette Cone Adams; one son and daughter-in-law, Russell Stuart and Judy Jo Adams; and their children, John Wesley and Evan Andrew, as well as by his brother, Dr. John C. Adams Jr. and his sister-in-law, Sharon Stubbs Adams and their children, John Chesley Adams III, Christian Bridges Adams, Thomas Everett Adams and Susan Elizabeth Adams. Also his devoted stepchildren, Kimball and Rheanna Harville Jr., Gilbert Breck and Cynthia Harville, Keisha Nannette and Daniel Eisenreich; and their children, Justin, Kimberly, Jacob, Jamison and Chad Harville and Emily Hope Eisenreich. Also left behind is his cherished dog, "Bo" and many friends.
The memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Hubert Tankersley officiating. The graveside service and inurnment will immediately follow the memorial service.
