Statesboro — Thomas Roberts Adams passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006 after an extended illness to join those loved ones who have gone before with the assurance that in our Father's House are many mansions. Mr. Adams began his banking career while still in high school under the tutelage of Wallace Cobb Sr. Mr. Adams was awarded the first Lillie Deal Scholarship from Statesboro High School and earned his degree in business from the then Georgia Teacher's College while also gaining several certifications through banking schools during his career. He served in the Army National Guard. He was very active with the Lions Club. He was an athlete in high school as well as college. He was a member of the original Craftsmen Quartet who performed Gospel music in concerts as well as through recordings.
