DUNCAN — Jeane Miller Montgomery, 81, longtime resident of Duncan went to meet her Savior on Saturday, Sept. 17 surrounded by her family.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at West Side Christian Church, with Rev. Rolen Earson officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the funeral home.

Jeane was born June 7, 1930, at Carlsbad, N.M., to T.C. and Amelia Miller. She traveled with her family until they moved to Sulphur, when her father became superintendent of Platt National Park. After graduating from Sulphur High School she attended St. Anthony School of Nursing, receiving her Registered Nursing Degree. Before graduating, Jeane met and married the love of her life, Robert E. Montgomery Jr.

They exchanged vows on Aug. 23, 1952 at Sulphur. After Bob finished his Army appointment, they started their dream by opening Montgomery Landscape Nursery in 1955. She worked as a surgical nurse in all three local hospitals before serving as secretary/treasurer of the family company.

She was a member of Hestion Study Club and West Side Christian Church, where she celebrated her love for God. She enjoyed attending OSU football games and spending time with family and friends. But her greatest passion was her three granddaughters.

Jeane is survived by her husband Bob of the home; a son, Tom Montgomery and wife Darinda of Duncan; a brother, Art Miller of New Mexico; a sister, Mary Edwards and husband Bob of Missouri; three granddaughters, Kylie, Kelsie and Karlie Montgomery, all of Duncan; and several nieces, nephews and close family friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son. Robert E. Montgomery III; a brother, Joe Miller; and a sister, Eunice Lowrance.

Pallbearers will be Randy Brown, Jimmy Bullock, Rick Gann, James Heaberlin, Shawn Lockstone, Todd Murphree, Bobby Randolph and Russell Thornton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church Memorial Fund.
