Mrs. Addie Jackson Chesnut, 68 years old, died at 9 o’clock Sunday morning at her home in Oakley after four weeks illness with heart trouble. A daughter of Stephen and Eliza Owens Jackson, Mrs. Chesnut was born July 16, 1872, in Laurel County, always making this her home. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church.October 28, 1900, she was married to William Chesnut, who with three daughters and one son survive: Mesdames Daisy Brewer and Lucy Simms, of Oakley, and Ruth Carroll, of Sand Gap, and James Chesnut of Hamilton, Ohio. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Sally Luker, of Bloomington, Ill., and one brother, Humphrey Jackson of Victory and eight grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Mt Carmel church by Rev. Boyd Baker and interment was in the Landrum cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmon Chesnut, Elmer Williams, Ed Whitaker, George Jackson, Roy Chesnut and Humphrey Chesnut.
