William Chesnut Dies Late Tuesday

William Chesnut, 86, of Route 1, East Bernstadt, died late Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lucy Sims.He was born in Laurel County September 26, 1872, the son of James H and Margaret Asher Chesnut and in young manhood was married to Addie Jackson, who preceded him in death. H was a retired farmer.Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sims, Rt. 1, East Bernstadt, and Mrs Ruth Carroll, London, Route 4; and one son James Chesnut, Hamilton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Alcye Moore, Oregon, and Mrs. Vica Wolfington, London, and one brother, Humphrey Chesnut, Corbin.Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 1:00 pm., CST at the Mt. Carmel Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Bill George. Interment in the Landrum Cemetery at East Bernstadt with the House Funeral Home in charge. Pallberers; Roy and George Chesnut, Bob and Edgar Jackson, Arzie and Ralph George.
