CORA'S OBITUARY SAYS SHE DIED IN THE YEAR OF 1969 & HER TOMBSTONE SAYS 1970: RAGLE OR RAGEL- In Visalia on Nov. 8, 1969, Cora B. Thornton Ragel, 86, native of Arkansas. Beloved mother of Mrs. Cora Guinn of Visalia, loving stepmother of Harold Ragel, Edwin Ragel and Mrs. Tom Davis all of Woodlake. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services at Hadley Funeral Chapel in Visalia on Wednesday afternoon,Nov 12, 1969 at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Woodlake Cemetery under the direction of Hadley Funeral Chapel. Cora Bell Holder was born April 20, 1883 in the state of Arkansas. She was born in a covered wagon while her parents were traveling through Arkansas. She was reared & educated in Fair Play, Missouri. She was married to Thomas Thornton, January 20, 1901, in Stockton, Missouri. To this union was born four children, Willard, Cora, Carl and Adrienne May. Mr. Thornton passed away Apri 18, 1938 in commerce, Oklahoma. Mrs. Thornton moved from Oklahoma to Lindsay, California in 1940. She was married to Mr.Warren Ragle in 1943 and they lived in Woodlake, California until his passing in 1955. She became a resident of Visalia, California in 1957. She became a member of the Church of Christ in 1963. She was preceded in death by three of her chldren, willard, Carl, and Adrienne May. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Cora Guinn of Visalia, California; also two step sons,Harold and Edwin Ragle and one step daughter, Mrs. Thomas Davis all of Woodlake, California, There are also thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren, neices, nephews, and a host of friends.
