VALERIANO RUFFA: Funeral Services will be held Tuesday for Valereiano Ruffa, 88, 520 Beatrice St., who died Saturday at his home.

Sevices will be at 11 a.m. in the Peers Funeral Service Chapel, with the Wallace Hastings of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Tulare, Cemetery. Ruffa, a native of Italy and retired farmer, he live in Tulare for 41 years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge.

Survivors are five sons, Don Ruffa, Bellflower; Ted Ruffa San Jose; Arnold and Ed Ruffa of Tulare and Earl Ruffa , Berkeley; Five daughters, Mrs. Fay Dorner, Reseda; Mrs. Emma Musso, and Mrs. Dorothy Winters, Los Angeles; Mrs. Violet Baker, Long Beach Mrs. Virginia Lusk, Porterville; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; a brother , Theobaldo Ruffa, Italy, and a sister Pricella Catarino, Apple Valley.

Valeriano Frank Ruffa was born to Carlo Frank Ruffa and Ghignane Domenica in Colosso d' Asti Italy. He married Virginia Agnese in Dronero, (prov. Cuneo), Piemonte, Italy on 3 Nov 1906. He arrived in New York on 29 Jan 1911 on the steam ship, La Savoie. He met Virginia and their first 3 Children when they arrived in New York on 21 Oct 1911 aboard the steam ship, La Provence. They made their first home in Rochester NY, where the next 6 children were born. Their last 2 childen were born in Las Angles. Some time after 1930 they purchased a ranch on the edge of Tulare on Bardsley road. Their 10 children were Ophelia, Emma, Santana, Violet, Dante, Theobaldo, Arnold, Earl, Virgina and Edward.
