Eldon Gulley

Grave side services will be at 2 p.m. Munday at the Tulare Cemetery for former Tulare resident, Eldon Bryant Gulley, 80, Bakersfield, who died Wednesday at a Bakersfield Hospital.

He was born in Tulare and raised and educated in Bakersfield. At the age of 17 he inlisted into the U.S. Marines Corps, discharged in 1938. In 1939, he married the former Lorrine Timroth in Bakersfield. Re remained in the Reserve Corps until1943, at which time he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served as a pilot during World War II, flying C-47 and C-46 in the China Burma India Theater of Operations. In 1977 He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. was a chief line assgner for Pacific Bell telephone or 40 years, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed traveling.

He was a life member of HUMP Pilots Association; life member and past Preseint of Telephone pioneers of America, and a member of the Reserve Officers of America. In addition to his wife he is survived byone brother Bill Gulley, Costa Mesa; and several neices and nephews, Rememberence may be make to Reserve Officers of America/TROA, c/o Bruce Davis 1216 Club View Drive, Bakersvield CA.93309. Arrangement are by Goble Miller Funeral Chapel
