Bradford Hills Quackenbush, Jr., age 75, beloved father and husband passed from this life August 1, 2004 in Columbus, Ohio where he has lived with his wife Ann for the past 11 years. Born March 13, 1929, Aurora, IL, where he lived until leaving for college. A well-rounded athlete in high school, distinguished in football, basketball and track, Brad was later inducted into the West High School of Aurora Hall of Fame in 1991. Accepted to Yale University on Academic Scholarship, graduated 1951 with a B.S. in Industrial Relations. Member, Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, and elected team captain of Yale varsity football team, 1950.
Served in the U.S. Navy as LTJG, 1952-1955. Following Naval service Brad received an MBA from Harvard Business School, graduating with distinction in 1957. Throughout his career, he held a variety of Sales and Marketing Management positions, primarily in the medical field. Brad was a family man, lover of ice cream, and long walks with his faithful golden retriever Duke. He had a great sense of humor which stayed with him his entire life.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bradford H. Quackenbush, Sr. and Ruth, first wife Jane Cushing Quackenbush; sister Jane (Raymond) Williams.
Survived by his wife Ann and daughters Julie Quackenbush (Rick Duff) Columbus, OH; Susan Helwig (Daniel) Racine, WI; Nancy Farison (Brian) Ft. Wayne, IN; Sally Scheiman (Edward) Wadsworth, OH; and Ann's daughters, Sue (Dale) Kirkland, Linda (Russ) Hamilton, and Karen (Billy) Robinson, along with 15 grandchildren, brother John Quackenbush, Madison, WI; sister Linda Downes (Robert), Glen Ellyn, IL, aunt Lucille DeCelles, Aurora, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
