Bud Berglind, 76, Ada, MN, went to be with Jesus, surrounded by his family on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Karol Eugene was born November 19, 1934, to Raymond and Viola (Cirks) Berglind. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Green Meadow Township, rural Ada. As a child he attended Lockhart (MN), Valley View Dist. #51, and later attended Ada High School, graduating in 1952. Bud entered the United States Army serving in the United States and France from 1957-1959. After his discharge he returned home and farmed in Spring Creek and Green Meadow Townships northeast of Ada. Bud was united in marriage to Sandra Walswick on March 25, 1961 at the First Lutheran Church, in Mahnomen, MN. Bud continued to farm as well as having a sales business selling seed and grain handling equipment. He was also an AAL and Thrivent Financial district representative from 1995-2006.

Bud was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, serving in various offices which included: Chairman, Elder, Trustee and Treasurer. He also served on MN North District LCMS Evangelism Committee. Bud was a Gideon member for many years. He was involved with the Red River Valley Winter Shows, serving on the board and as "King Agassiz" in 1974. He was a member of Norman County and U of M Extension Advisory. He was a 4-H leader and served on the MN 4-H Foundation Board of Directors. He also served on the Ada Co-op Oil Association Board of Directors.

Bud is survived by his wife, Sandra, Ada, MN, six children: Janet Guertin, Fargo, ND, Kari (Brian) Olson, Crookston, MN, Michael (Tammy Hall) Berglind, Cottonwood, MN, Thomas (fiancée, Kimberly Tveter) Berglind, Sabin, MN, Daniel (Carrie) Berglind, Fargo, ND, David (Sharon Chromy) Berglind, New Prague, MN, six grandchildren: Katherine Berglind, Nathaniel Berglind, Alison Olson, Jonathan Olson, Emily Berglind, Isaac Berglind, Kayla Chromy, one sister: June (Alex) Golubowicz, White Bear Lake, MN, several nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law Myrtle Walswick, Mahnomen, MN. Bud was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Viola Berglind, grandparents: Eric and Julia Berglind and Harm and Minnie Cirks.

Funeral Service: 10:30am, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Green Meadow Township, rural Ada, MN. Visitation: 5:00-7:00pm with a 7pm prayer service on Friday, September 23rd at the Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Burial: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ada, MN.
