ESCONDIDO -- Janice R. Hartley, born April 7, 1932 to Seth and Radah Leishman, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September. 13, 2011. She was surrounded by many family members during her final months. She appreciated her caregivers kindness during her stay at Aegis in Dana Point. Janice was born in Wellsville, Utah. She graduated from Utah State University and worked as a registered nurse. She married Richard Hartley in 1957. Janice and Richard resided most of their lives in Escondido, California. Janice was an active member of the LDS Church and was compassionate and caring in the many years that she served in her church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, handiworks, watching all sports, and being a Mom and Grandma. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and husband. She was an example of hard work throughout her life and endurance through her illness. She is survived by her son, Rick and his wife Linda; her daughter, Michelle Packard and her husband Forrest; 15 grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren; her four sisters, Gwen, Mary, Nina, and Julie; and her brothers, Paul and Louis. A graveside ceremony will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 24th, at the Wellsville, Utah Cemetery.
