Robert A. Carviou, 76, of Porterfield, WI passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Rennes Health Care Center-East, Peshtigo, WI. He was born on Jan. 9, 1933, to the late Howard and Eleanor (Walters) Carviou in Menominee, MI, he was the last of nine Carviou children. He graduated from Marinette High School in 1951 and was married to Marianne Bayerl on July 26, 1958, at Epiphany Church in Menominee. He owned and operated the Carviou family farm for over 50 years and had also driven school bus for several years. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was a member of SS Joseph & Edward Parish. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marianne; a son, Mark (Dawn) Carviou of Marinette, WI; five daughters: Colleen (Michael) Valencic of Gladstone, MI; Theresa (Dave) Boucher of Menominee, MI and Julie Jerry) Sauve, Sue (fiance, Tim) Carviou and Nancy (fiance, Brad) Larmay, all of Marinette, WI; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. Friends called on Friday, Jan. 23, at SS. Joseph & Edward Parish from 2 p.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 5 p.m. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family.
