John Earl Borland I (1924-1986) was a veteran of United States Navy who served in World War II. He later worked at the Ballantine Brewery in New Jersey. (b. May 16, 1924; Bowerston, Carroll County, Ohio, USA - d. November 10, 1986; Leesville, Carroll County, Ohio, 44639, USA) Social Security Number 283208195.

John was the son of Weldon Earl Borland (1906-2002) and Elizabeth F. Forbes (1905-1983). His parents were married for only a short time.

She registered the birth under the name of her sister, using her married last name "Norton". When asked about it she said she didn't want to use the German name "Freudenberg" so soon wafer World War II.

False fire alarm:
False Alarm Charge Aired. Edward Burke, 42, of 98 Poplar Street, Jersey City, was to be arraigned In Jersey City Municipal Court today on a charge of telephoning a false fire alarm from a Hoboken tavern. Burke, a according to authorities, telephoned early Saturday morning that smoke was pouring from the basement of 112 Grace Street, Jersey City. When firemen arrived, they awakened the three children of John Borland, aged nine, eight and six, who were alone in the apartment, but could find no evidence of fire. While firemen were in the apartment, Borland and his wife returned. They said they had gone on an errand and hadn't been away from the apartment more than half an hour. Police traced Burke to the Hoboken tavern and arrested him after he allegedly admitted telephoning the alarm. Police said Burke could give no reason for his action.
