Albert A. Johnson
Albert A. Johnson, 90, of Barron died Thursday, Nov. 28, at Barron Memorial Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson was born Oct. 27, 1895, in the Town of Clinton, Barron County. He grew up in the Barron area and served in the U.S. Army during WWI. He married Gena Schold April 14, 1920, in Barron. She died in 1950. He married Della Shaide in Iowa May 2, 1953. She died in 1967.
He lived in the Barron area where he owned and operated a dairy farm. He lived in Cameron from 1941 to 1944. After returning to Barron, he was employed by Peter Fox and Sons. He later lived in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was a member of the Barron County WWI barracks group and belonged to the Barron American Legion, serving as an officer in various capacities.
Surviving are one son, Tony Johnson of Chetek; daughters, Iona Borchers, Denver, Iowa, and Nona Dannheim, Circle Pine, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, Barron, the Rev. James Sjolie and the Rev. Chaitram Prashad officiating. Internment was at Wayside Cemetery, Barron.
