Adeleen S. Engel, age 91, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away September 21, 2011.

She was born in Council Bluffs, on December 16, 1919, to the late Frank and Adalynn "Babe" (Drew) Allen.

Adeleen was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Engel (1996); mother, Babe Smay (2008); sister, Patty Anderson (1996).

Adeleen is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Scott) Athay, of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Greg (Mandy) Broyles, of Winnsboro, Texas, Mindy (Matt) McCollough, of Council Bluffs, Tanya Maurer, of Wynona, Texas, Richard (Sandy) Broyles, of Tyler, Texas, Dustin Broyles, of Tyler, Texas, Cassandra Broyles, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Lacie Norman, of Tyler, Texas; 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, 10 to 11 a.m., at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home and Crematory with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m., Pastor Dan Arold will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room. The family will direct memorials
