Edna Ailene Anthony, daughter of the late William Henry "Henry" Samples and Hattie Samanatha Ballard Samples, was born June 28, 1922, in Frisbee, Mo. Mrs. Anthony departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 23 days.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Anthony and wife, Helen, and Quinton Anthony and wife, Cindy; four grandchildren, Amy Roberts and husband, Billy, Spud Anthony and wife, Brandy, Mark Anthony and wife, Mary and Tonia Anthony; 11 great-grandchildren, Justin and Jared Roberts, Janson, Cory, Bailee, Chandler, Jackson, Raeonna, Ethan, and Evan Anthony, and Aleigha Simmons; a daughter-in-law, Mary Stockton, and brother-in-law, charles Ethridge.
Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Lucky" Anthony; two brothers, Martin and Raymond Samples; two sisters, Maymie Glenn and Veneta Ethridge and a son, Bill Stockton.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at McDaniel funeral Service in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Mike Holt officiating.
Burial will follow in sumach Cemetery at Holcomb, Mo.
Palbearers will be Ralph O'Neal, Billy Roberts, Justin Roberts, Shane Jones, Brandon Johnson and John Clemmons.
Honorary pallbearer is Jared Roberts.
