Survived by his wife, Della, and a granddaughter, Mildred Ackerson. His parents were John M. and Rachel Feller Ackerson. Several brothers are listed in the obituary (which is mostly illegible): Charles, John and possibly Roland, and a sister, Annie.

His son, Edward Ackerson, b. abt 1902 in New Jersey, is found in the 1930 census (Town of Mount Hope, Orange County, NY) but must have predeceased him.
