She was born April 28, 1918, at Plaza, North Dakota, the daughter of Walter and Madje (Teirney) Maddock, and she attended grade school in Plaza.
The family moved to Bismarck where she graduated from the st. Mary's High School in 1936.
Marguerite married Pete Fischer on September 17, 1938 in Bismarck. In 1941, they moved to California, returning to Bismarck in 1944 where they have lived since.
Marguerite's father was Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota and was appointed Interim Governor upon the death of Governor A.G. Sorlie.
She is survived by her husband, Pete; one daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and LeRoy Feist of Bismarck; fi ve sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Rose of Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, William and Karen of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bruce of Homosasa Springs, Florida, Bradley of st. Paul, Minnesota, and Brian of Fargo, North Dakota; one brother, John Maddock of Sacramento, Cali fornia; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
