Mr. Arrowood was a native of Washington County, a son of the late Manuel and Creasy Estepp Arrowood.
He was a charter member and a deacon of Limestone Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Arrowood retired from farming and Old Hickory Concrete Pipe.
He was the widower of Bethel Bailey Arrowood, who died in 1983.
Survivors include two sons: Avan Arrowood of Limestone and Alvin Arrowood of Jonesborough; a daughter: Marlene Smith of Johnson City; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers: Welzy Arrowood of Jonesborough and Larce Arrowood of Telford; two sisters: Rebecca Ball and Louise Bennett, both of Jonesborough; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 this evening at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Limestone FWB Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Mitchell will officiate.
The body will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
