Wyatt Carter, 74, of Jay Propst Road, Limestone, died Tuesday evening at Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Carter was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife: Georgia Davis Carter; two sons: Billy Carter and Jeffery Carter, both of Limestone; two daughters and sons-in-law: Hilda and Junior Bryant of Limestone and Patricia and David Smith of Kingsport; four grandchildren: Ronnie Bryant, Lisa Hilton, Tammy Smith, and Cody Smith; three great-grandchildren: Thomas Hilton, Allen Michael Bryant, and Hether Kyker Bryant; a sister: Wanda Lamb of Limestone; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law: Cloyd Davis Jr. of Pecatonica, Ill.

He was a son of the late W.L. "Bogue" and Memory Shelton Carter and was preceded in death by two brothers: Lawell Carter and Dwan Carter.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening at Kiser Funeral Home and other times at the home.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at Limestone Free Will Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Alfred Cutshall will officiate.

The body will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Allen Hicks, Joe Hicks, Buddy Crum, Otis Shelton, Glenn Carter, and Gary Burgner.
