Charles Edward Lannin was born in Sainte-Martine, Quebec. He married Mary Ann Stevenson (from England) around 1859. In Canada's 1851 and 1861 census', respectively, the family lived in Beauharnois, Quebec, and Enniskillen, Lambton, Ontario.
In 1869, the family emigrated to Michigan. In 1888, Charles filed a Declaration of Intention stating that he would pursue citizenship in the United States. His actual naturalization record has not been found.
In Grand Traverse County, Michigan, Charles settled in the Pensinsula and had a homestead/farm there. He died 29 Jun 1906 in Traverse City.
