Leroy Arnold Christensen II, 55, of Blackfoot, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at his home following a long illness.
He was raised in the Rose area and attended Blackfoot schools. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1974. He served an LDS mission to the Arizona Holbrook Mission from 1976-1978.
He attended Ricks College and graduated with a degree in Farm Crops Management in 1980. He married Diane Marie Esplin on January 31, 1979, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
He enjoyed farming, skiing, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working with the Scouts and in recent years attending the temple numerous times. His most enjoyable job was grooming the ski hill at Pebble Creek.
He is survived by his wife, Diane of Blackfoot; his children, Arnie (Fabiola), Idaho Falls; Aaron (April), Blackfoot; Alex (Angel Hansen), Idaho Falls; Kara (Ryan) Jensen, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Kimberly (Kyle) Greenhalgh, Logan, Utah; and seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sisters, Ambie (Mac) Wilson, Woodbridge, Virginia; Crystal (Kelly) Whitmill, Longmont, Colorado; Candace (Will) Broadbent, Riverton, Wyoming; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave, Blackfoot. Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
