Service: David Whittier served as 1st Lieut. in a company commanded by Capt. Samuel Bodwell, which marched on an alarm on April 19, 1775. He was also a Captain in a regiment commanded by Maj. Benjamin Gage. Company marched April 4, 1777 to join the Northern Army. Also Captain of a Company commanded by Jeremiah Blanchard. Discharged October 12, 1778.
Veterans Administration, Washington, D.C.

Remarks: David Whittier and his wife are buried in the Carpenter cemetery, town of Henderson, Jefferson County, N.Y.
