MCGREGOR--Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest Bachtell, 64, were conducted here Thursday at the Pilkington chapel by the Rev. Dwight E. Webster, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was in the cemetery at National. Mrs. Bachtell died Monday at the University Hospital in Iowa City, after a short illness. Born Oct. 5, 1877, at National, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Morgan. she came to McGregor about three years ago. Surviving are her husband, and a brother, James, at National. Her son, Leland, was killed in action in the first World war.
