WW2 Marine vet; POW after 6 May 1942 surrender of 4th Marine Regiment and attached units, Philippine Islands; transferred to Tokyo Bay Area POW Camp, Shinjuku; liberated 4 Sep 1945; after recuperation at US Naval Hospital Oakland, California and Norman, Oklahoma, posted to to Naval Ammunition Depot, McAlester, OK, and later Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, TX, where Allen was promoted to Master Sergeant. Transferred to, or enlisted in US Air Force at unknown date. Retired as Senior Master Sergeant about 1962. Tragically murdered by step-father in family dispute 8 June 1963.
