George Woznick [sic]
In the death of George Woznick, Sherman county loses another old settler and one who helped carve out the early history of the country. Coming to Sherman County almost a half century ago and settling on a homestead near McAlpine he endured the many hardships that were the lot of the early settlers. He was a hard working man and reared a family of industrious children and in the closing of his life's work it can be said that he did his full share.
Born in Poland in April 1848, he was united in marriage when a young man and a month after his marriage he and his bride came to America and settled down in Momence, Illinois where they resided five years and then came to Sherman County settling on a homestead near McAlpine, where they continued to live up to about twenty years ago when the family decided to quit farming and they moved to Loup City.
About four years ago Mr. Woznick suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered and was bedfast almost from that day. He suffered strokes later, and every time it left him more helpless and for the past year he has been unable to turn over in bed, and last Thursday morning his sufferings were relieved when the angel of death took him home.....
