Paul J. Bonomo Sr. of Pardeesville passed away on Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Paul F. and Josephine (Marone) Bonomo.
Paul was an insurance agent representing the American General Co. for almost 20 years.
He was an avid sports fan and followed the Tampa Bay Rays closely. Paul was a well-respected coach in the Hazleton area and coached in many leagues and tournaments, including PAL basketball, Hazle Township Little League, Hazleton Midget football and Hazleton Babe Ruth.
Paul served in the Army Reserves and was a member of St. Nazarius Church, Pardeesville, until it closed.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his brother, Pat.
Surviving are his wife, the former Judy Panzarella; and children, Paul Jr. and wife, Alexa, Hazleton; Jeff, Lattimer; Kris, Hazleton; Joelle and fiancé, Chad Bogansky, Freeland; and Jude, at home. Grandsons, Jonathan and Alexander, and his aunt, Anna Marie Bonomo, Hazleton, also survive.
The funeral will be held on Friday at noon from Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home, 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in Good Shepherd Church, Drums.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
