Alice S. Aberts, 72, of Downingtown, died yesterday at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Chester County, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Emma Brown Simcox, she had resided in Downingtown most of her life. She retired in 1972 after 10 years as a secretary for COA Pallets, Downingtown.

A member of the Grove United Methodist Church, Mrs. Aberts also belonged to the senior citizens and women's society, both at the church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons. Paul F. Jr. of Exton and William E. of West Chester; a daughter, Mary E. Sunday of Henderson, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Elwood Simcox of Parkesburg and Edward, Walter and Stephen Simcox, all of Downingtown; and four sisters, Sara Rogers of West Chester, Marian Ebright of Hereford, Eleanor Ranck of West Chester and Estella Ray of Gap.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Ralston & Bredickas Funeral Home, Downingtown. Interment will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall.
