After an illness of several weeks and great suffering, Mr. L.E. Davis, aged 71, passed away last Friday morning. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and eight children, Messrs Horace, Eustace, Elbert, Leroy, Ned, Talbert and Mrs. Jim Bailey, all of whom reside in this county, and Mrs. Eunice Morris, of Athens, Ga. Mr. Davis was a Confederate Veteran and rarely missed attending any of the reunions of his comrades. On Saturday he was buried in St. Luke's cemetery, of which church he was a member. Our sympathy is extended the family in their sorrow.
