Fred was married to Ida Mae Knuckles, April 16, 1919 at Dagonia MO. Born to this union were 10 children. He was preceded in death by his wife, four children, Mother and Father, sister Clara Knuckles, and twin brother Frank.
He is survived by four sons and two daughters; Jim of Dove Creek, Guy of Farmington, Lola (Mrs. Darl Lewis) of Tuba City AZ, Dalton of Dove Creek, Albert of Dove Creek,Carolyn (Mrs. Ed Crawley) of Salt Lake City UT; one sister, Amy Baker of St. Louis MO, 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Buffington moved to Colorado in 1929 and resided in and near Dove Creek until the time of his death.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the First Baptist Church at 2:00 pm, with the Rev. Paul Shock of Durango officiating. Internment was in the Peel Cemetery.
