He lived in Ohio until he was twelve years old when they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he attended highschool. He attended college to receive his bachelor's degree in Indiana at DePauw University.
He wished to further his education as he attended The University of Redlands in California where he met Kathlyn Veazey, who was studying for her master's degree. They fell in love and went to her home town of Lubbock, Texas.
They wedded on June 9th of 1959. Arthur and Kathy moved to Oklahoma where he taught at Oklahoma Baptist University and they also had two children; Douglas Sheldon Wolff (12/24/1964)
and Victor Kurt Wolff (3/31/1967).They also lived in Texas after they had children so that Art could get his doctorate degree at North Texas State University.
He attended college at North Texas State while teaching music. He also taught at The University of Montavallo in Alabama, then in New York at The Eastmen School of Music. The Wolff family moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1974, Art applied for the Music Professor position at Wichita State University.
He was hired out of one hundred eighty-seven applicants. He enjoyed classical music such as Beethoven and Mozart.
He suffered from arthritis, asthma, and heart disease and had to retire on Medical Disability in 1986. His son Douglas later had two children; Anna Lynn Wolff(2/18/1991) and Drake Douglas Wolff(7/2/1992)
Arthur had a magnificent artistic talent and encouraged his children and grandchildren to draw and paint.
He was very involved in his grandchildren's lives. After struggling with coronary artery disease and asthma he had a fatal heart attack on May 8th of 1998, he was sixty-seven years old. He was cremated at the Old Mission Crematory.
Arthur was a very talented professor and an outstanding grandfather, and person in general; he will never be forgotten and he is greatly missed.
