OCEANSIDE -- Col. Maurice "Mike" Rose, Ret., 84, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010. He was born December 29, 1925 in Ft. Benning, Georgia, son of Maurice and Venice Rose. Mike attained the rank of Colonel in the USMC, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a Marine for 31 years, received a BA in History at San Diego State University in 1960, taught Business Math at Palomar College, and was an avocado farmer in Fallbrook. His favorite pastimes were playing Bridge, gardening and entertaining. Mike is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Patricia Rose; sons, Michael Rose of Escondido, Calif., and John (Jay) Rose of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and daughter, Kathleen Rose of Boise, Idaho.
