Mrs. Dees was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, quilting, and gardening. She won "Yard of the Year" a few times for her beautiful gardens. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Ray Dees of Vidor and Carl Dees of Hermitage, Arkansas; sister, Doris Nell Modisette of Lufkin; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Mary Guidroz of Vidor and Elaine Dees of Hermitage, Arkansas; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dees was preceded in death by her husband, T.W. Dees; son, Thomas Dees; and 3 siblings.
Mrs. Dees¹ grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Services for Mrs. Dees will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. R.G. "Bud" Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home. Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
