Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard; a son, Joe Salte; and a nephew, Bob Salte.
She is survived by a sister, Jan Cummings of Carlton, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Doris Hallquist of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; her longtime friends, Virginia Coleman and Faith Ruhland; numerous nieces and nephews in Washington and Minnesota; and her beloved dog, Buddy.
Hazel was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church at Longview. A memorial celebration was held there on April 2, 2011. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery at Strathcona, MN in the summer of 2011.
