Eleanor Allen Edenfield Fore went to be with God on September 25, 2011 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe County, she was born on May 23, 1934 on the Biltmore Estate, where she spent her childhood years. Eleanor was a beautiful, faithful Christian Lady who was loved by all who had the fortune to be touched by her friendship.

She graduated from Biltmore High School in 1951 with top honors, and was a star basketball player, playing guard on her team at Biltmore. She was an excellent bowler and won many trophies. Eleanor worked at Middlemount Florist for 37 years as a floral designer.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Edenfield and her precious daughter, Cindy; parents, Ernest and Verna Allen; sisters, Katie Clark and Mary Liner and brothers, Bob Allen, Bill Allen, and John Allen.

She is survived by her husband, James Fore, and his children, James G. Fore of Edneyville, Donna C. Gilliam of Asheville and Michael E. Fore of Weaverville; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Out of eight siblings, she is survived by sisters, Martha A. Wolfe of Candler, and Edna B. Siler of Arden. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 11:00am in Gospel Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Shelton, Dr. Wendell Runion, Rev. Andrew Parker, Rev. Robert Haynie, and Rev. Dr. Joe Yelton officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Harwood Home for Funerals.

Flowers are acceptable and appreciated. Those desiring to make memorial contributions are encouraged to consider Gospel Baptist Church, 74 Oak Hill Dr., Asheville, NC 28806.
