Telesphore Charest, son of Alphonse Charest and Georgianna Rousseau, was born on 17 Apr 1897 and baptized the following day at Saint Flavien, Lotbinière, Québec, Canada. His family immigrated to the United States after 1901 and settled in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine. Télesphore married Eugénie Morin, daughter of Elzéar Morin and Aldérina Lagueux, on 27 Nov 1916 in Lewiston.
