Joseph Wenceslas Charest, son of Adolphe Charest and Marguerite Bélanger, was born on 11 Nov 1873 and baptized the following day at Sainte Croix, Lotbinière, Québec, Canada. The family lived in Ireland, Mégantic, Québec. Wenceslas married Sophronie Beaudoin on 16 Oct 1906 at Saint Antoine, Pontbriand, Mégantic, Québec. The couple settled in the parish of Saint Maurice at Thetford Mines, Mégantic, Québec, where they lived with their children and Wenceslas' mother Marguerite. The family immigrated to the United States in May 1920 and settled in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine. Wenceslas was widowed in 1935. He died at the age of 66 and was interred in Saint Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
