Master Sergeant Jimmy L. Bagwell, U.S. Army, Ret., 66, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton.

Mr. Bagwell was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was retired from the U.S. Army, in which he served his country proudly for more than 20 years including the Vietnam War.
115th Inf, Davey Crockett Plt, 1964-66.

He was an active member of the American Legion and also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He will be remembered for his service in the community and many acts of kindness. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 27, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will follow at Hunter's Chapel Cemetery. George Barrera and George Krigbaum will officiate.

He is survived by:

Wife: Shirley Bagwell of Carbon Hill
Children: Kim Kelley (Tim) of Nauvoo
Jennifer Kimbrell of Jasper
Christy Roberts (Sammy) of Jasper
Grandchildren: Blake Mitchell, Allie Mitchell, Jessi Anderson, Macey Kimbrell,
Maddi Kimbrell, Dillon Roberts, Summer Roberts
Sister in law: Linda Mullis (Gordon) of Atlanta
Brother: Joey Bagwell (Sharon) of Carbon Hill
Sister: Judy Goodwin (Howard) of Parrish
Special family member: Ronald Mitchell
Special niece: Lauren Bagwell
A host of nieces and nephews.
