Lillian Viola Adams Blanks was born June 16, 1912. Lillian was the youngest of nine children born to William J. "Jack" Adams and Cleo Cochran Adams in Pennville, GA.
She was employed at Dixie Mercerizing Company at Lupton City, TN for 35 years before becoming a self-employed hairdresser in 1959. She was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, Mary Adams Wofford, Roberta Adams Thomas, Lula Mae Adams Baker, her five brothers, Richard Adams, Alfred Adams, Buford Adams, Roy Adams and Cicero Adams; her husband George William Blanks.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Diane) Blanks, grandsons, Scott and Brian (Jennifer) Blanks, grandson Kaden and granddaughter, Amelie plus many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Reverend Randy Bell officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for their kind and compassionate care during the illness of Mrs. Blanks.
