Maudie Wade Blansett, the sixteen-year-old wife of John Blansett, was killed while riding in a car driven by her brother. James Wade, 18, reported that the car "hit a rough piece of road", the car door flew open, and he fell out. The driverless car then rolled, fatally injuring Mrs. Blansett, who died later that evening.
Maudie's husband, who was sitting in the back seat of the car, escaped injury.
